Social Programme

The Social Programme has long been an integral part of this conference series. The goal is to maximise networking and community building both during and after the conference, while ensuring that partners accompanying delegates enjoy their stay in Santander and feel part of the ICT-MobileSummit Community.

Networking Reception - 10 June

The Organising Committee is pleased to announce that a Networking Cocktail Reception, sponsored by the City of Santander, will be held on Wednesday 10 June from 18:45 - 19:45 in the Exhibition area.

Conference Dinner - 11 June

The Organising Committee is pleased to announce that the Conference Dinner will be held on Thursday 11 June at 20:00 in Hotel Real.

The venue has a fixed capacity and delegates are requested to confirm their participation no later than 26 May as part of online registration. Delegate will have the option to purchase a second ticket for accompanying people.

Tours

There is a range of tours available during and after ICT-MobileSummit 2009 for delegates and accompanying persons to experience Santander and Cantabria. Tickets can be purchased in advance via online registration up to 02 June and will be included in the delegates pack provided at on site registration.

It is necessary to have a minimum of 8 people booked for Full day tour including Cueva del Soplado and minimum of 4 people booked for Half Day tours of Cabargeno Park and Liencres.

Full day tour Picos de Europa and Soplado Caves

This tour will commence at 9am. Delegates will see the countryside of Cantabria while driving to the Soplado Caves, which are world-know for their unique rock shapes. The caves were previously metal mines and it is possible to get an idea of how people worked during this time. The scheduled tour at the Caves commences with a short train journey going down 400 metres in a mining train into the caves and a general introduction to the caves and surrounding areas. During the tour, the guide will bring the group around the different galleries. The guided tour last approximately one hour.

Next stop is Potes, a beautiful medieval town located in the European peaks (Parque Nacional Picos de Europa) where you can enjoy different traditional dishes of the area and take a walk around the town, meeting the locals and enjoy its great landscape and architecture.

You will then visit the incredible park of Fuente De where you can have see cliffs over one thousand meters high. You will return to your hotel in Santander by 7pm

Tour includes driver/guide, entrance to Cueva del Soplado and lunch. It is necessary to have a minimum of 8 delegates to run this tour.

Half-Day Tour to Cabárceno Park

This tour commences at 9am. Cabárceno Park is located in the Cantabrian Mountains, just 20 kilometres from Santander, in the Peña Cabarga Nature Reserve. The Park covers an area of more than 750 hectares and is the largest park of its kind in Europe. It is a large open area where more than 118 species from all over the world live happily in semi-liberty. The guide will drive around the Park to ensure you see as much as possible. You will return to your hotel by 2pm.

Tours includes driver/guide and entrance to Cabárceno Park. It is necessary to have a minimum of 4 delegates to run this tour.

Half-Day Tour - Santander

This tour will allow you to see the highpoints of Santander, the beaches and Lighthouse. The group will also visit Liencres a near by town with unique sand dunes and beautiful beaches.

Tour includes driver/guide. It is necessary to have a minimum of 4 delegates to run this tour.
